Traveling to School
First, I want to thank Keri-Lee Beasley (@klbeasley) from United World College of Singapore for throwing down the gauntlet on this blogging challenge to our PLN. It is always excellent to think of different ways we can challenge ourselves as educators with blogging and learn more about each other in the process. This was a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved to document the process of getting to school in their respective environments. Thanks, Keri-Lee!
OK, on to the photos:- Cats Saying Goodbye: The first shot is of one of our cats watching us leaving through the inner door. Every morning and evening at least one of them watches us as we go through the process of leaving or entering the house. Bless!
- Getting out the Door: A shot of Aysem putting her shoes on from the doorway.
- Waiting for the Elevator (lift): One of the two elevator rides involved in getting to my office. Some would say, Tim, use the stairs you lazy jerk. But, I live on the 13th floor, so that ain't going to happen!
- Waiting for the Bus: Our school provides transportation to and from school each day. No one is required to use it and some people have their own cars, but most people use the morning bus to get to KIS.
- Riding the Bus: Make no mistake, our bus is full every morning, but the riding is fun, because of Ben Summerton (@bensummerton).
- Unloading the Bus: Of course, once we are at school, we have to unpack the bus and getting everyone and everything off.
- Walking into the Building: Here comes the gang from Woomi for another day of school! Woomi is the apartment complex where most of the married teachers without children live.
- Lined up for Coffee: The school provides coffee for free to the faulty and staff, so every morning the line up is huge as we all wait for our fix.
- Using the Free Coffee Machine: That's right -- FREE!
- Riding the Elevator 2 (lift 2): The second elevator ride in the going to school process. Notice that I used the word Lift as well as elevator -- that's multiculturalism, friends.
- At the Office Door: Here it is -- the Ed Tech Office of KIS. Where the magic happens! It is great to share and office with Steve Katz (@stevekatz) and Ben Summerton (@bensummerton).
- Our Tech Demi-God: Techie the Tech God. This was an art project from a middle school student a few years ago. Each pair of students made a project and then adopted them out to offices, teachers and administrators. After the school year, the girls didn't want their project back, so it became a part of the Bray Office Design.
- My Desk: Finally, I'm at my desk -- long trip everyday, right? I love this place.
